Dutch Oven Ham and Cheese Breakfast

Ham and Cheese breakfast whipped together in a Dutch Oven. The perfect breakfast for your next camping trip!

Ingredients

6 Artisan French Rolls, thawed and cut into bite size pieces
1 lb diced ham
1 Pkg precooked bacon (approx. 8 slices chopped)
1 Cup shredded mild cheddar cheese, divided
4 green onions, chopped
6 large eggs
4- oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp hot sauce or Cholula sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper, to taste

  1. Line Dutch Oven with parchment paper or use a pan liner for convenience.
  2. Cut Rolls and place in pan. Top with diced ham, bacon, ½ cup shredded cheese, and green onions.
  3. Beat together cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and garlic powder. Wisk well, pour the egg mixture over the Rolls.
  4. Let sit for 15-30 minutes.
  5. Bake 30-45 minutes, until golden brown. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
For a 10″ Dutch Oven you will need 25 hot charcoal briquettes. Place 17 coals on top of the Dutch Oven lid and 8 coals underneath the Dutch Oven.
For a 12″ Dutch Oven you will need 29 hot charcoal briquettes. Place 19 coals on top of the Dutch Oven lid and 10 coals underneath the Dutch Oven.

      I would bake it at 350 degrees for 45 – 60 minutes. And I would check it at about 45 minutes. Put a knife into the center to make sure the egg is set and thoroughly baked. Hope that helps you!
