Sticky Buns

Prep Time: 60 min.
Bake Time: 20-35 min.
Servings: 6-12
Difficulty: Intermediate

Simply delicious and simply irresistible.

Ingredients

Using Thaw, Rise and Bake Cinnamon Rolls:
1 package Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Using AnyTime! Cinnamon Rolls:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Instructions

Using Thaw, Rise and Bake Cinnamon Rolls:
Make the topping by combining brown sugar and butter in a saucepan. Cook over low heat and stir until sugar and butter are melted. Pour mixture into a sprayed 9″ x 13″ pan and sprinkle pecans on top. Evenly arrange thawed cinnamon rolls on top of prepared topping. Then cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes. Cover with foil the last 10 minutes of baking to prevent over-browning. Remove pan from oven and immediately and carefully (Topping is hot!) invert onto a serving tray.

Using AnyTime! Cinnamon Rolls:
Make the topping by combining brown sugar and butter in a saucepan. Cook over low heat and stir until sugar and butter are melted. Remove rolls from included pan and spray with nonstick spray. Pour mixture into the included pan, then sprinkle pecans on top. Evenly arrange AnyTime! Cinnamon Rolls on top of prepared topping. Place pan on top of a baking sheet to catch any drippings. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. Cover with foil the last 10 minutes of baking to prevent over-browning. Remove pan from oven and immediately and carefully (Topping is hot!) invert onto the baking sheet and then move to a serving dish.

Can you put this in the refrigerator overnight after the first rise and bake it in the morning?

I would probably thaw the rolls in the refrigerator overnight and then assemble it in the morning. It should only take about an hour to rise. I think it would be too long to let the rolls sit in the sticky mixture overnight. Happy Baking!

We used to make these pecan cinnamon roLls using the frozen rhodes dinner rolls.. we buttered a bundt pan,, placeD PECANS on the bottom, then the rolls. Melted a stick of butter and poured over all of it, then sprinkled a box of Butterscotch pudding mix over it. Loosely cover and leaveout overnight — it will be oven ready in the morning,
I was hoping someone knew of this recipe, as its been years since we made it it and didn,t know if i got the order correct.

There are several different recipes on our website you might want to look at. You are probably referring to our Butterscotch Bubble Loaf recipe, which you can find on our website.

I got the frozen recIpe on line.
      1/2 cup chopped pecans (OPTIONAL)
1 3.5 oz pkg. regular butterscotch pudding cook & serve (not instant)
      1 tea cinnamon
      1/2 cup bROwn sugar
      1/2 cup butter

1). Grease a bundt pan. I used 13×9 pan. Add chOpped Nuts, if usIng. Place 20 rhodes rolls in pan.
2). Sprinkle 1/2 pkg jello butterscotch cook & serve on top. Sprinkle the cinnamon On top.
3). Melt the butter & mix with the brown sugar. Drizzle over rolls. I use a pastry brush and brush over rolls much easier.
4). Cover with a damp cloth & raise Overnight. Bake @ 350• for 25 minutes. Cook fOr about 10 minutes & then cover with ALUMINUM foil. The top browns fast! The aluminum foil will help them to cook throughout & not brown the top quite as fast. But cook for the whole time or Else the rolls on the bottom will be doughy.

I still like using tge overnight method rather than the Quick method.

Place dough pieces on top. sprinkle with 1/2 box of butterscotch pudding (not instant) sprinkle with cinnamon. Melt 1/2 stick of butter, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 Tblsp. of brown sugar in microwave until dissolved. Pour over top of bread. Cover with towel and let sit overnight. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. turn onto dish immediately and let stand 10 min. remove pan and enjoy!

Wonderful recipe! My only caution would be that we don’t recommend leaving them out overnight. If your yeast is really active the rolls can raise and then fall, which would be sad because you have used a lot of ingredients. So we recommend putting them in the refrigerator overnight and then bringing them out for about an hour to let them finish raising. Enjoy!

I’m not sure I can give you an educated answer to your question. I have never tried doing that. I’ve a few co-workers and we think that the result might not be good. I’m afraid the caramel part would not be good after freezing. I’m afraid it would “weep”. But saying that, if you want to try it, I would like to know your thoughts. If it doesn’t work out, we would be happy to send you a replacement coupon for our product. You can call us at 1-800-876-7333.

I’m sorry but I don’t know what didn’t work for you. Did the rolls raise as they should? Did you cut the topping recipe in half too? It probably would be best to call and talk with one of our baking experts in Customer Satisfaction so you could explain to them what exactly happened. That number is 1-800-876-7333. They would be happy to help you and send you a replacement coupon too!

Darn! Works for me! I wonder what happened.. I also wonder why I’m getting all caps on here??
Anyway , I’ve even done 2 at a time and worked fine.
Letting rise on counter over night doesn’t sound like good idea to me. May thaw and rise faster than doing a dozen. If they did that early before you get up, they would fall.
Can’t thaw them in fridge and then put on counter overnight for sure.
There are a lot of reasons that could have happened but I don’t know exactly what you did..

If you want to do the overnight method, you can refrigerate them and bring the rolls out the next morning leaving time to let them finish raising. We do not recommend leaving them out on the counter overnight.

I cannot tell you how to use the canned cinnamon rolls. I would never promote a competitor’s product. In my opinion, Rhodes Rolls are far superior in taste and quality!

I don’t know if you are using the Anytime! product or the Traditional Cinnamon Rolls. We never suggest leaving our product out overnight so you could thaw the rolls and assemble the Sticky Buns and refrigerate it overnight. Or you could thaw the rolls in the refrigerator overnight and assemble it the next morning. But you would have to allow it to raise before baking.
