The delicious flavors of a traditional Cheeseburger all wrapped up in a convenient little bundle.

Ingredients

12 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls or 1 loaf Rhodes White Bread, thawed to room temperature
1 pound lean ground beef
3/4 cup chopped sweet onion
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
12 slices bacon, cooked and diced
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
ketchup or BBQ sauce for dipping

Instructions

Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Flatten each roll into a 4-inch square. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest.

Brown hamburger, onion, salt and pepper together and drain. Add bacon and toss until well combined. Remove wrap from dough squares and place about 1/4 cup meat mixture onto the center of each one. Top with about 1 tablespoon grated cheese.

Bring opposite corners of each dough square over meat and pinch together. Repeat with remaining corners.

Place each bundle on a sprayed baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375°F 15 minutes or until deep golden brown. Remove from oven and serve warm with ketchup or BBQ sauce for dipping.

I make these often. We call them perishka. They’re super yummy and it’s fun to try all kinds of different fillings. I always use your rolls to make them!

    Hi
Can you please send me info or picture of the first step about preparing rolls. I’m confused about the cooking spray part on the counter

Spray the counter with Pam so the rolls don’t stick to the counter. Place 12 rolls in the counter and flatten them into squares. Cover them with plastic wrap (so they don’t dry out) and let them sit on the counter you’ve sprayed so they rise a bit.

I have used Rhodes Bread or Rolls for many years. I also make my own bread and rolls at times but find that the success rate is much better using Rhodes. the most important thing to me about the product recently is that I have a granddaughter that is vegan and trying to find vegan bread is always a challenge. I can use it for her for Thanksgiving stuffing as well as whenever the meal needs to be Accompanied with a dinner roll. It is so much easier. My original use of the rolls was baking Kraut Kuchen. now…it would be nice to have a gluten free product that tastes as good as the original. It seems that cooking for families is getting a lot trickier with all of the diet requests. Some out of necessisity and some fad.

I’m glad that you have been able to use our products. And yes, it is tricky to meet everyone’s dietary needs. I would love to tell you that we will produce gluten-free rolls in the near future, but I highly doubt that will happen. It would require building a completely different building and production facility. So as much as we’d like to, I don’t think it would be feasible now.
