Ingredients

24 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp garlic salt, separated
1 onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
12 slices provolone cheese
1.5 lbs sliced roast beef
4 tbsp butter, melted

Cheese Whiz

1 can evaporated milk
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
8 oz velveta, cubed
1/2 tsp mustard powder
1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions

Turn oven to 350°F and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and let it heat. Add the diced onion and diced green pepper to the skillet. Season with oregano and 1/2 tsp of garlic salt. Cook together, stirring often, until the pepper is softened and both veggies are lightly browned, about 10-15 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in the roast beef.

Combine two rolls and flatten into to a 7×5 inch rectangle. Place 1/2 cup of roast beef in the center and top with a slice of provolone cheese. Fold the dough around filling and pinch the edges well to seal. Repeat twelve times.

Place each breadstick on a sprayed baking sheet, leaving 1-2 inches between each breadstick.

In a small bowl, combine melted butter and 1/2 tsp garlic salt. Brush this mixture evenly over the entire surface of each breadstick.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve warm with cheese whiz dip.

Cheese Whiz

In a saucepan, heat 1 can of evaporated milk over low heat. Once steaming, add in shredded cheddar cheese, velveta, mustard powder and paprika. Stir until melted, then remove from heat.

Baking Notes

These breadsticks can be made with steak. Thinly slice 1.5 lbs of steak and marinade in 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce with salt and pepper for 30 minutes. Then cook the meat in a skillet for 3-5 minutes over medium-high heat.
