Description

The WI Truck Driver- Class A is responsible for transporting flour from offsite mills to silos at the Rhodes’ manufacturing plant according to mill and flour schedules; Ensures safe and efficient deliveries by adhering to all DOT and company regulations as well as local, state, and federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge and understanding of commercial vehicle rules and regulations.
• Daily reviews mill schedule and appointment times.
• Daily reviews schedule to verify type of flour to be transported and assigned silo for unloading.
• Reviews driving log to ensure that by completing the scheduled trip, he or she will not exceed the maximum driven hours allowed by DOT.
• Before beginning route, ensures the electronic logging device is operating properly.
• Inspects vehicle and trailer for mechanical and safety issues before and after scheduled trip.
• Performs preventive maintenance as necessary.
• Safely operates company vehicles in accordance with DOT and company policies and procedures. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws.
• Records fuel purchase and mileage for the day.
• Prior to loading at the mill, reviews paperwork for accuracy; Ensures the correct type of flour is loaded according to the allowed vehicle weight.
• Transports flour from offsite mills to silos at Rhodes’ manufacturing site.
• Before unloading at Rhodes manufacturing plant, check with the Quality Assurance (QA) department to verify the assigned silo and flour type.
• Ensures all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed during the unloading process.
• Keeps truck organized and clean for safety and efficiency.
• Schedules and cleans the interior of the trailer every two (2) weeks.
• Schedules routine vehicle maintenance work on a weekly basis as necessary.
• Completes required DOT and company related paperwork
• Works in a safe and productive manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ commercial driving experience required.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) required with good driving record.
