18 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
1 egg white
red gel food coloring
Spray counter with non-stick cooking spray. Combine 12 rolls and roll into a triangle 8 inches wide at the bottom and 16 inches tall. Place on sprayed baking sheet.
Combine 1 1/2 rolls and roll into a 9×3-inch rectangle. Lay the rectangle over the middle of the triangle about half way to make the brim of the hat. Fold over the point of the triangle to one side and place one roll on the point of the triangle.
Using scissors or a pizza cutter and starting at the wide end of the triangle, make 3 inch long cuts up into the triangle to make the beard strings. Be sure to leave a small half circle uncut for the face. Twist each string and arrange as desired.
Combine 2 rolls and roll into a half circle about 8 inches wide and 5 inches tall. Make several pie like cuts into the half circle but do not cut all the way through at the straight edge. Carefully lift and lay this over the top of the beard and twist strings to make a thicker beard.
Use 1/2 roll for mustache. Cut it in half again and roll each half into a short rope and arrange as the mustache. Cut 1/3 off the last roll and place the larger part as the nose in the middle of the face. Place leftover 1/3 under beard.
Cover with sprayed plastic and let rise 20-30 minutes. Bake at 350F 15-20 minutes. Make red paint by mixing egg white with ref food coloring. Remove from oven and brush nose and hat with red paint. Return to oven and bake an additional 5-10 minutes.
